Ministry of Commerce launched countervailing investigation on polyphenylene oxide originated in the United States

On August 14, the Ministry of Commerce announced that it would immediately launch a countervailing investigation on imported polyphenylene oxide (PPO) originating in the United States.

The products applied for investigation were subsidized by the U.S. government, and a total of 145 subsidy projects may benefit American polyphenylene oxide industry (enterprises). After preliminary examination, the Ministry of Commerce considers that the application contains the contents and relevant evidence required for filing a countervailing investigation.

It is reported that polyphenylene oxide is a high-performance thermoplastic resin and its composition, with light weight, high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, good dimensional stability, low water absorption, low dielectric loss rate, halogen-free flame retardant and other excellent properties. It can be used for injection molding, extrusion, alloy, etc. the products are widely used in photovoltaic, automobile, communication, electronic and electrical appliances, water treatment, medical equipment and other fields.
